Another thought….

I think a lot of “Christians” get caught up in the notions of super star status or envision themselves as some sort of super servant of God which inturn causes them to develop some very grandiose ideas about themselves and how they will serve God.

The problem is that they determine that they will serve God the way THEY see fit and not yielding to the fathers instruction and desire as to how HE WANTS TO BE SERVED. Basically most ignore God, the Father and Creator because they have their own ideas about how they will achieve divine perfection, thus they in essence become their own God.

The notion of serving in obscurity doesn’t really satisfy the self image and ego of a lot of Christians because they believe a successful work is a highly visible public work. And that they will be seen serving the Lord and doing or acting out his commissioned work. The notion of serving a small obscure community that is not in the public eye doesn’t satisfy the often narcissistic ideals of those seeking fame through the name of God.

For the one truly seeking to serve God it’s not about how many people see you throwing a dollar at a homeless man or how many see you visiting your blood relative in the hospital. It’s the service to the dozens of Homeless and the visiting of the scores of the sick that do not afford you fame that God is concerned about.
