Healing the Trauma

Several years ago my former pastor allowed me to deliver a series of messages to the congregation on the subject of trauma. I discussed the various forms of trauma that people experience and how those unresolved traumas can affect ones life and decision making unless dealt with effectively and with purpose. I related my life experiences and how seeing death in the course of my profession and life in general affected me and my world view.

The torture and murder of Yesus Christos/Yeshua HaMashiach was probably the most traumatizing event experienced by the Apostles and the followers of Yeshua recorded in scripture. The Son of God after a 3 and a half year ministry of healing, teaching, performing miracles and revealing the Kingdom of God to the world was tortured and put to death in one of the most heinous ways mankind ever devised to kill a human being. The Apostles, followers and family of Yeshua all witnessed this gruesome and tortuous act in its totality. Some physically close enough to actually see his torn flesh and his blood stream from his body.

The trauma of watching Yeshua/Yesus Christos die effected the most faithful and devout in such ways one can never really imagine or fathom. The events following his death set a precedent that I feel needs to be examined and understood deeply by believers and those who claim Christos.

On the first day of the week, 3 full days after the Passover we pick up the account in John chapter 20. In John 20:19-21 we read:

[19] Then the same day at evening, being the first day of the week, when the doors were shut where the disciples were assembled for fear of the Jews, came Jesus and stood in the midst, and saith unto them, Peace be unto you. [20] And when he had so said, he shewed unto them his hands and his side. Then were the disciples glad, when they saw the Lord. [21] Then said Jesus to them again, Peace be unto you: as my Father hath sent me, even so send I you.”….

With Christos appearing ALL the FEAR, ANXIETY and PAIN, THE TRAUMA around the death of Christos felt by the Apostles was immediately HEALED. The appearance of the RISEN HAMASHIACH ERASED AND HEALED ALL TRAUMA and its effects. Christos not only appeared but also offered a prayerful greeting that cemented that healing, “Peace be upon you”….

With his resurrection, appearance and presence among the disciples and later his other followers he HEALED those who were traumatized by his death. That healing enabled his disciples and followers to move forward in power and with determination to serve God and magnify the Kingdom of God and the Fathers mission and purpose for the Earth.

I finished that message that day the way I finish this discussion now. Have you really SEEN YESHUA AND ALLOWED YOURSELF TO BE HEALED BY HIM? Is your belief such that he his able to heal you of the traumas that you have experienced? That healing coming either directly or through divine agents entrusted with bringing healing to the world?

Taking it a step further, ultimately are those who claim the cross bringing healing and RELIEVING the traumatized in the world? Are we spiritually mature enough or seeking to be spiritually mature enough to do as we were commanded and bring healing to the world around us in the best ways we can? Are we focused on the mission of healing trauma? Or have be become so absorbed with selfish, fleshly aims and goals that we actually deal out trauma? If we are putting the desire to be a person of high esteem, a leader of movements or a self appointed teacher or prophet above the Mission of Christos then we are actually failing Christos and the Father and missing the mark. God moves people HE SEES fit and qualified into positions of leadership and service of his purpose. A large part of that purpose is healing the suffering in the land and alleviation of the suffering of those that are hurting.

When those who claim the cross ultimately realize they are to be an emissary of Christos and the Kingdom and bring about healing and the end of suffering just as Christos did when he appeared to the disciples that night and subsequently to others after his resurrection, the believers will change the world, giving the world a foretaste of the kingdom that brings with it an end to suffering and a healing of the world.

For us, now it may just be one person we affect. But the effects of that healing and uplifting effect more than the one person we see. Thus whats more important is the sincerity and truthfulness of the action. Its not a game of numbers and ego, but part of our way of life and every day service to God. God bless you in your efforts as there is much work to be done. Please know that through true faith and complete belief you have the power to do it. To be a catalyst in healing the broken hearted and changing the world.
