One step at a time

Have you determined that you want to serve God but am not sure how too based on your limited resources, material or financial capacity? Does that actually inhibit or deter you? Do you feel you cannot possibly have an impact because the issues and troubles around you are so big, and you feel like you lack the tools and resources to tackle even the smallest of issues?
I will tell you from personal experience, there is nothing, even on the smallest scale that is too insignificant, inconsequential or ineffective when the inspiration comes from a sincere and righteous desire to see people be healed and made whole. Even if you think the only tool you have to help another is prayer, “faithful” prayer is perhaps the most potent and powerful “resource” you have in your advocacy for the healing and justice of others.
Prayer from a heart of complete faith and belief in The Father and the Son and their ability to accomplish all things is perhaps the most potent and effective tool in the believers arsenal.

The prayer of the faithful, coupled with even the smallest physical efforts to heal can be multiplied and strengthened by the God of the Universe to bring relief, healing and justice to the beneficiary of the prayer.

For me personally, what seems like a one-two step action occurs almost simultaneously as I identify or see a need and respond in almost the same breath. I believe and utilize this method as I look at the examples left by Yeshua, the Apostles and the prophets. I believe personally that this is the way all Christians should be, as whenever Christos was confronted with a situation where action was required, he responded almost instantaneously, whether with prayer and physical action or just prayer due to physical limitations that ultimately healed (Luke 7:6-10
[6] Then Jesus went with them. And when he was now not far from the house, the centurion sent friends to him, saying unto him, Lord, trouble not thyself: for I am not worthy that thou shouldest enter under my roof: [7] Wherefore neither thought I myself worthy to come unto thee: but say in a word, and my servant shall be healed. [8] For I also am a man set under authority, having under me soldiers, and I say unto one, Go, and he goeth; and to another, Come, and he cometh; and to my servant, Do this, and he doeth it . [9] When Jesus heard these things, he marvelled at him, and turned him about, and said unto the people that followed him, I say unto you, I have not found so great faith, no, not in Israel. [10] And they that were sent, returning to the house, found the servant whole that had been sick.”).

Action based faith is in essence what true Christianity is. If your concerned about where the energy comes from to walk an action based Christian life, please realize that the strength to live this way of life comes from the God of all things who supplies your every need especially when it comes to the strength and power to stand for him and declare his kingdom.
In the Ethiopian Orthodox Church tradition many a teacher has said, Never has a servant of God home broke responding to the needs of the poor. As he or she gives from the heart in an effort to heal or bring justice GOD himself restores what has been expended during the act of service. In essence, in a true relationship with God built on true and sincere belief, God is not only a sustainer but replenisher as well, equipping the servant and believer to continuously do good works that play a part in announcing and declaring the Kingdom of God that will be established on the Earth. Our physical acts play multiple roles on the world stage. We bring healing and justice to the world while setting the example of what true Christianity is to be and what the Kingdom of God really looks like. This is why it’s more than just words, debates, public arguments and pretty sermons. Those aspects, with balance and moderation, play a small part in the Christians walk and witness, in the believers case it is truly the actions that speak louder than words….
